Your Heroes

The real hero of the last article, Grandad, was one of many ordinary people, who become heroes to those who know them just by the way they live their lives.

A hero is not just somebody who is brought to fame by the media. There are many people who are heroes in their own right by the example they set those around them everyday. Heroes are often humble unassuming people, who would never even consider themselves heroes.

When I look back at my life, there are individuals that stand out from the crowd by the impact they have made on my life. Some of them don't even know how profoundly they have touched my life. I was challenged by the last article of the importance of telling them, and thanking them before it is too late, and they have passed from this world forever.

Have you any unsung heroes in your life? I encourage you to take a few minutes to express your appreciation to them in someway- a note or card, a phonecall or email, a hug and loving words - the way you do it is not so important as putting it off until it's too late, and then regreting the lost opportunity for the rest of your life.
